“The different between an astronomy and astronaut is one can only analyze, study and ‘see’ it while the other can really 'touch' it” – Answered Paleontologist Dr Grant to Eric when the latter asked about his job - script in one of the scene from the film Jurassic Park 3.
I believe that is the reality of most of us in this world. Some might be able to only ‘see’ it while others are able to implement whatever they could 'see'. I guess that would be the main challenge of our Transformation Execution. We have done the ‘seeing’ part i.e. the planning and now we are at the second stage of implementing it.
If you ask me, the Transformation Plan (TP) is nothing much than the usual annual business planning. Other than 'rebranding' it for the purpose of getting everyone's involvement, the rest are basically the same. But why the usual annual business plan is just a business plan i.e. an annual workshop that talks about the same strategy, initiatives year in year out?

I guess before this we never really go to that phase i.e. not enought effort in assessing and monitoring the implementation part. Therefore we never know where we are and whether we have succeeded in whatever we planned.
Anyway, on the scene mentioned in the 1st para, it suggests us to balance the thinking and the implementation. One must have both Intelligent Quotient (IQ) and Emotional Quality (EQ) to go thru.
IQ & EQ
An Intelligence Quotient, or IQ, is a score derived from one of several different standardized tests designed to assess intelligence – Wikipedia. In a simpler word IQ represent our creativity and thinking. Emotional Intelligence/Quality (EQ) on the other hand, describes the ability, capacity, skill or, in the case of the trait model, a self-perceived ability, to identify, assesses, and manage the emotions of one's self, of others, and of groups – Wikipedia. In much simpler word it is our emotion towards implementing a planned strategy.
The g's is ‘balance’. We should know how to balance both world of IQ and EQ to succeed in both planning and implementation. A good planning (IQ) should take into consideration the EQ of the project, whether it is implemental of otherwise. Do I have a balance IQ & EQ? Lets visualize it via a graph..
Obviously one not only should know whether their IQ and EQ is balanced, they should also need to understand their level of EQ & IQ.
What about yours?
P/s - I pray for my ‘survival’ in continuing this Transformation Execution…
