PUTRAJAYA, Feb 9 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir retains the Perak menteri besar's post after the Federal Court here today declared his appointment by Sultan Azlan Shah as constitutional.
A five-man bench led by Court of Appeal president Tan Sri Alauddin Mohd Sheriff unanimously ruled that the ruler had exercised his royal power to appoint Dr Zambry to succeed his opponent from Pakatan Rakyat, Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, after he was satisfied that the latter had lost the majority vote of the state legislative assembly.
Alauddin sat with Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Arifin Zakaria and Federal Court judges Datuk Zulkefli Ahmad Makinuddin, Datuk Wira Ghazali Mohd Yusof and Datuk Abdull Hamid Embong.
It’s a majority decision of which I personally agreed. Agreed simply because the High Court concurred to the decision made by Paduka Sri Tuanku in his judgment over the crossed over by 2 PKR & 1 DAP. Today’s High Court decision also expressed the absolute law of the monarchy, which in this case over the executive.
Legitimate of otherwise, way forward for Dr Zambry is to continue to work extra harder in administering the state, its economy while serving the Perak people. At the end of the day, I (any many more) opted to live in harmony.
DS Nizar should respect the High Court decision too and allows Dr Zambry and his team to manage the State. To some you are still the Menteri Besar. Other than struggling with the ‘shaky’ administration of the state, you might want to focus and continue planning on how to win back the state, off course minus people like Jamaluddin & Osman. I’m quite sure you do not need to wait for another round of 16 Sept.
At least I can feel the true democracy from this huu haa. For both MBs, here some ‘after the court’ jokes….
Nizam is dying. Next to him is his wife Imah serving the last hours of her dying husband…
Nizam : "Imah.. before I die, I wanted to tell you someting.."
Wife : "Yes, my dear, tell me.."
Nizam : "I want you to marry Zomri..."
Wife: "Are you out of your mind? (well, most of dying people are).. Isn’t it Zomri who put you in this situation, your true enemy all these while?! Are you willing to let me be with him?" the dejected wife questioned?
And Nizam’s final word: "I would like to see him suffer as I did for the last 30 years being with you..."
