Which One‘s Which??

Not long ago, I wrote something about Namewee’s Nasi Lemak 2.0. I wrote about his easy access to see Pak Menteri Nazriwee and how he can get away in promoting his 1Malaysia, better Malaysian for future generation so-called movie. It was a so ‘patriotic’ movie that most ‘Australian born Malaysian and somehow most migrating Malaysian in other countries’ had a long queue waiting and wanting to buy the cinema tickets. Read here. The controversial movie was eventually released in Malaysia and nothing dreadful things happen. Namewee cool, Nazriwee pleased and other Malaysian also happy.

Recently, there was this yet-to-be-released movie entitled ‘Tanda Putera’ that sparked an issue which is quite similar with the Nasi Lemak. But this time, it was a Malaysian history movie spinning around on the tragedy of 13th May 1969 and is directed by a Malay (a talented Shumi Baba – remember Maya’s Pontianak?). Again, the local and the ‘Australian born Malaysian and somehow most migrating Malaysian in other countries’ made fuss on the illicit and explicit contents of the movie with intention to make it fail, big time. Words were going around and mStar reported on July 19 that the movie’s release would be delayed to an unspecified date. The genuine story of the tragedy was not truly reflected, they said?? Mmm.... reflected my ass!! It will only be reflected if the story of any story is directed and casted by the ‘Australian born Malaysian and somehow most migrating Malaysian in other countries’. After all, the movie has been 30% ‘discounted’ by Dato’ Rais sampai logo 55 tahun Merdeka pun dah tersilap tampal. You won’t see the whole story pun, jangan la risau. Takkan ada pekikan-pekikan ‘Malay Si, ‘lancau’ dsbgnya cos’ most of it has been censored. Then, why want to delay the release of this movie? Kenapa la nak jaga hati sangat the ‘Australian born Malaysian and somehow most migrating Malaysian in other countries’ tu? Bak kata Leman Raja Lawak... “tak paham aku??”

Release, release, release in full as what the majority wants it (rather than concentrating in Bishop Ng Moon Hin or Dong Zong minority’s demands). No more carrot and time to ply the stick.

P/s – Dunno which one is genuine now, but yang Hana Tajima's look-a-like tu so damn cute..

OMRA 2012 (Finale)

Long Day Friday

It was a long day last Friday. The day was an off day in replacement of Hari Keputeraan DYMM Agong which falls on Saturday. Tqvm Tuanku and may you be given more Hari Keputeraan. Early morning we travel to Kuala Kangsar, the so called royal town of Perak, try to be at the Sultan Azlan’s gallery as early as possible. Well, we were there at 10am on the dot, enough to have about an hour enjoying ourselves with all the items in the gallery. 20% of the time spent on Keris Taming Sari and good explanation given by En Aznan. He seems to know in details about all the Keris’ and Pedang Diraja belonging to the Sultanate of Perak.

Keris Taming Sari is a weapon owned by a Malay warrior called Hang Tuah, way back in the era of establishment of Malacca in 1500th. The Keris is so special that it was made from 20 different types of iron, of which some says that the metal came from the forging of bolts of the Ka’abah. According to En Aznan, Tuah feeling shame & guilty of not being able to get the hand of Puteri Gunung Ledang for Sultan Mahmud, had passed the Taming Sari to Tun Mamat to be given back to the Sultan. Hang Tuah wished to pursue Islamic knowledge and dissapered since then. When Malacca was invaded by the Portuguese in 1511, Sultan Mahmud retreated to Kampar, bringing with him the Keris and all Malacca State regalia. After sometimes, the Sultan successor, Raja Muzaffar was given the task to go back to Peninsular, where he eventually landed in Perak and was proclaimed the first Sultan in this State. Taming Sari and other insignia were given to him as the state regalia. The keris is kept at the Istana Iskandariah since then and only shown to people 4 times for the past dunno how many hundred of years.

Here the boys and Damia in front of the gallery.

Also the Taming Sari (hulunya telah ditukar kepada hulu yang bertatahkan ruby).

Next on the list was the Lenggong Archeology museum in Kota Tampan. The Museum consists of three main places (i) the excavation artifacts and items of Kota Tampan and surrounding areas including the famous Perak Man, (ii) the museum of musical instruments and (iii) the viewing tower atop the hill at the back of the museum. Kiki asked what if skeleton of the Perak Man founded in Manjoi? I say he will be called Manjoi bro

The kids had a good time. Amin moderated to us the Paleolithic (zaman batu), Neolithic and Metal Age era (Zaman logam) which is part of his form one History study.

We had lunch at R&R near Raja Nazrin Bridge. The Perak Man’s IC here..

We then traveled back to Ipoh for Friday prayer. I missed a turn at the hi-way and we ended up paying our toll at Simpang Pulai. So we decided to do our prayer at the An Nur mosque.

Next we traveled to Kellie Castle in Batu Gajah. We were brave enough to climb on top floor of the castle for sightseeing of the surrounding area (and imagining ourselves as Brennius, legendary king of Northumberland & Allobroges, the conqueror of Rome).

King Brennius with brotha and sista, afraid of height…

The castle sparks an idea for the name of newly bought Half Persian kitten. We call her Kellie..

Traveling back to Ipoh we stopped at the Perak Stadium for a date with Upin & Ipin only to find out that they will only be available on the next day. We were happy with Mail 2 ringgit and Ehsan si Intan Payung…

We even stopped at 'almost-complete'' 267 house..

Arrived late in the evening everybody was so tired. When we asked Raischa, she just gave us this uwekkk looks saying that she still got the energy for another round tomorrow.. ;-)

Happy Birthday PDRM!

I just do not sure why but I really like this movie. From the movie's plot, the script, the background music...everthing. Will never miss if it is aired in national TV. I even have a DVD collection that I seldomly use. When most people talks about Avatar, V3 Samseng Jalanan etc, for me its either P. Ramlee's movies or BUKIT KEPONG!

In conjunction with PDRM's 203rd anniversary, RTM2 aired the movie again yesterday night. Personally, I must admit the movie was very motivating, might lead to hatred in certain part (not neccessary if you channel it in a positive ways) but still my fav movie sepanjang zaman...At some point (with the sound of gun and bombs, and when Sgt Jamil Mohd Shah refused to surrender and yelled "..kami orang-orang polis takkan menyerah, biar kami mati di sini. Bukit Kepong menjadi tanah kubur kami!!..") I wish I'm one of the policeman at the Balai Polis Bukit Kepong, Muar that night. Feb 23rd, 1950 the bloody Bukit Kepong tragedy witnessed a total 25 policeman and their families (including 3 children) died in the hand of Communist Party of Malaya.

Of late, PDRM has been whacked left and right. No doubt some might due to their own mistakes, but most of it must be from political agendas. For them just do your job and do it proudly. Just remember how proud Sgt Jamil and his other policeman bertempur selama lebih 4 jam mempertahankan Balai Polis Bukit Kepong (obviously not only the police station but the true spirit in fighting for nation).

To those who died in that tragedy, I pray that your soul be placed among the pious. Al Fatihah!

P/s - All my kids watched the movie till the end. Tahniah pada Tan Sri Jins Shamsuddin diatas penganugerahan Ijazah Kehormat Kedoktoran dari Universiti Utara Malaysia. Your Bukit Kepong is a masterpiece!
